Like for many others, trying to imagine what Heaven will be like was difficult for me. The Bible tells us a great deal about Heaven, but I think we often miss most of it because we are too often plagued by the influence what Alcorn calls Christoplatonism. He stresses the reoccurring theme of the renewal of Creation and gives us pause to ponder the possibilities of what God has in store for us in Heaven. While reading this book, I had the privilege of reading through Heaven for Kids with my children. I sensed a change in their thinking about Heaven too. They now have a heightened anticipation of Heaven as a result.
Randy shares one of many interesting perspectives that really hit home for me. In our busy life, we often regret not accomplishing many things or achieving some of our dreams because we lack time, resources, ability, etc. His perspective on Heaven and the New Earth allows us to look forward to enjoying lost opportunities when our sin-sourced limitations are finally gone forever.
I heartily recommend this book to anyone who thinks about Heaven and eternal life. I bought the book for several in my family already and I will continue to do so.
