Everything in moderation – even the freebies!

Feast!

You know how hard it is to scrimp and deny yourself in order to make it and achieve. Whether it is in athletics, education, or your career, you seek to keep yourself under the bar of moderation so that you might one day revel in accomplishment. Such discipline is the stuff that fuels dreams.

But what about those temptations along the way. → Read the rest

Real freedom

While scouring the Desiring God blog this weekend, I found the following post written by Jon Bloom:

You see, real freedom is not the liberty to do what we want, or even the absence of distress. Real freedom is the deep-seated confidence that God really will provide everything we need. The person who believes this is the freest of all persons on earth, because no matter what situation they find themselves in, they have nothing to fear.

iPhone – Man’s best friend?

While reading articles on my RSS reader this morning, I came across this piece by Rich Mogol on Tidbits. Rich extols the virtues of the iPhone for frequent business travelers:

I realize I may sing the praises of my iPhone a little too often here, but the truth is that as a frequent traveler I’ve never had such a useful tool at my disposal.

Review: Simplify Media – simply great!

Alright, I confess right up front, I have way more songs in my iTunes library than I ever do or will listen to. But I am one of those guys that likes to think I have my whole library always available for any situation. You know, like when I am at the park with my beautiful wife, a quaint picnic blanket and lunch, and a beautiful azure sky with one or two large cumulus clouds lazily floating across the sky.

Apple Earphone cord management

John Gruber in his Daring Fireball blog talks about changes to the familiar Apple white earbuds that are standard issue for the iPhone/iPod.

Like most of you, I suspect, I’ve wound up with an awful lot of white Apple earphones over the last seven years. There have been subtle changes to the earbud shape, and the iPhone introduced the wonderful clicker (click for play/pause, double-click for next track, triple-click for previous track), but one thing has remained a constant: the cords get terribly tangled when bunched up in a pocket or pouch.
